A Girl With a Story

I need books like I need air. I also like to the write them too, and hope to see them on the library shelves. I also have an unhealthy love of all things Teen Wolf.
The Darkest Minds - Alexandra Bracken I read this book because someone at the library book talked it so well, I immediately downloaded it to my Kindle. It did not disappoint. In a world where children begin dying before the age of 10, the ones to fear are the ones that live. Children begin exhibiting strange and sometime violent powers that they cannot control. The surviving children are taken from their families and sent to camps where they are abused and isolated. The children are divided up by five separate colors which determine how dangerous the child will become. 16 year old Ruby has been trying to escape for the past 6 years. Classified as a "green", Ruby is actually an Orange, the most dangerous of all colors, and knows that her time is almost up. When a rebellion group breaks Ruby out of the camp, she quickly begins to discover the dangers of her powers, and why people might be right to fear her. This book begins with a bang and never stops. Just when you think things are going to ease up for a little while, Bracken throws another wrench into the plot and your heart is racing to flip the pages. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is craving a fast paced action filled novel that will keep you guessing!
